Patch Note 23.061325

What happens when you only partially reinforce yourself?
Lately, I have been reinforcing a narrative fallacy. I was cherry-picking moments from my life that fit the story I wanted to believe about myself. And when something didn’t fit that story, I fought it. I dismissed it. It was selfish.
We all crave validation — from work, friends, relationships, money, whatever. But I’m starting to understand that real validation comes from being okay with you. No one else can fill what you’re unwilling to face in yourself. The past shapes us, but the future is still ours to author.
Life’s been giving me some feedback lately — whether I wanted it or not:
Caring with expectations, is just conditional.
Only with hindsight can we see how royally messed up we all are.
Being human means wanting everything, and learning when to stop.
